Get Your 5 tube table radio into Tip-Top Shape .

Here's the deal:

Send me your 5 tube table radio chassis and speaker, with attached antenna (if any) and a USPS Postal Money Order (purchased at a US Post Office) for $49.99* (+ sales tax if you live in NY State) + return shipping and I will replace all the paper and filter capacitors.  I will also replace the line cord and light bulb if you want them or if either or both are necessary.   If there is nothing else wrong with your radio, such as tubes, resistors, coils or transformers (they are all usually good), when the restoration is complete, I will automatically ship your radio back to you.

*Notes:  If your radio has a power transformer, there are more capacitors to replace, so add $10.00 to the price.
If you cannot determine if your set has a power transformer, I will let you know.

If your radio has a selenium rectifier it is replacing a tube, and, counts as a tube.

Please see my 6 tube radio special below if your radio has 5 tubes and a selenium rectifier.
If other parts are needed I will call to get your approval on the additional cost before any other work is done.

Please make your US Postal Money order payable to:
Dave's Antique Radio & TV Restorations

Please enclose, along with your money order,  something that states your name address and phone number.
There have been many occasions that I received a package sent from Mail Boxes Etc., with a complete address for Mail Boxes Etc. and not any from the owner of the radio.  So please include the information I need to contact you.

This special is open to small non battery table radios, similar to the ones pictured, that work on 110-120V AC or DC from a wall outlet only
and have the AM or BC band and can also have a short wave band but not FM.

There have been many occasions that I received a package sent from the UPS Store (formerly: Mail Boxes Etc.), with a complete address for The UPS Store and not any from the owner of the radio.
So please include the information I need to contact you.

The "Double-5" Special
New Special  What if your small table radio has 7 or 8 tubes, FM and/or possibly a selenium rectifier?
In some cases, an AM-FM radio from the early to mid-50s has as many capacitors to replace as two 5-tube, All American Tube Radios.   That's why I created this "Double-5" special.

Update: 4/1/06: My regular prices are now all flat rate. So most of the AM-FM table radios are covered by my regular prices. However, many AM-FM radios qualify for my 6 Tube Radio Special Above, in terms of what needs to be done. So I'm going to have "double-5 special", which will be renamed "AM-FM All American Table Radio Special" on June 1st, 2006.

A USPS Postal Money order should still be enclosed, as with the other specials, but it should be $59.99* + Sales Tax, ifyou are a NY State Resident + return shipping.

Another money order can be sent later, when the work is completed, if necessary.

*Notes: If your radio has a power transformer, please add $20.00.
If you cannot determine if your set has a power transformer, I will let you know.
If there are other parts needed I will call to get your approval on the additional cost before any work is done.

I have not seen a small AM-FM table radio with more than 20 paper and filter capacitors and having more than 10 tubes.
If there is one and I think it can be a special, I'll add it to this page.

Notes on Packaging:

Please do not ship your cabinets or knobs.   Bakelite and other old plastics are very brittle.  All I need to do the restoration is the chassis and speaker.  If there is an antenna attached to the chassis, I need that too.   Please package well.  Put cardboard over the front of the speaker so it doesn't get punctured.  Cover the chassis in bubble wrap so that it doesn't get dented or the tubes don't get broken in shipment.  Use a heavy weight cardboard box (double layer) filled with packaging peanuts.    It is sometimes better to have an inner and outer box so that there is an extra layer of protection.

These specials will remain in effect as long as the page exists.
If you have any questions please call me (315 457-5099) or send an e-mail to dave2@borg.com.
