At the entrance to Outermost Harbor Marine in Chatham on Oct. 8 were 5 MARBLED GODWITS, 34 WILLETS, 33 FORSTER'S TERNS, and 200 COMMON TERNS. A fallout on North Monomoy Island in Chatham on Oct. 4 included the following: 2 NORTHERN FLICKERS, 1 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, 1 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH SPECIES (probably Bicknell's), 2 HERMIT THRUSHES, 1 RED-EYED VIREO, 3 NASHVILLE WARBLERS, 1 YELLOW WARBLER, 2 BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLERS, 3 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 1 PALM WARBLER, 2 COMMON YELLOWTHROATS, 1 SCARLET TANAGER, 2 CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS, 40+ SAVANNAH SPARROWS, 60+ SONG SPARROWS, 1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW, 10 SWAMP SPARROWS, 20 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, 2 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, 3 DARK-EYED JUNCOS, 1 BOBOLINK, and 1 EASTERN MEADOWLARK. A EURASIAN WIGEON was sighted at the Mill Pond in Marstons Mills on Oct. 5. Also there were AMERICAN WIGEON, GADWALL, and GREEN-WINGED AND BLUE-WINGED TEAL. Highlights from the Harwich Community Gardens on Oct. 6 included two CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, and one INDIGO BUNTING. PEREGRINE FALCONS were reported from Nauset Light Beach and Boat Meadow Creek in Eastham and South Beach (maximum of 4) in Chatham. One BLACK TERN, two BONAPARTE'S GULLS, and three BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen in Nauset Marsh on Oct. 8. SNOW GEESE were observed flying over the Beech Forest in Provincetown on Oct. 4 and were also seen on Great Island in Wellfleet on Oct. 5 and Bassing Harbor in Chatham on Oct. 4. Three WILD TURKEYS were spotted near Fox Island in Wellfleet on Oct. 10. Miscellaneous sightings from the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary this week included an AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER and 4 SNOWY EGRETS at the mouth of Hatches Creek, 1 PEREGRINE FALCON on Try Island, and a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER on the elms near the feeders.
