This transcript is summary of the bird sightings that were reported to the Fingerlakes birdline and to the Cayugabirds-l listserve from September 23-29 2000. Shorebirds are still being reported from May's Point pool in MNWR, but their numbers are low. Black-bellied Plover, White-rumped Sandpiper, Baird's Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, Dunlin, Long-billed Dowitchers were reported on Sep 24. Golden Plover and 4 Sanderlings were reported on Sep 27. Migrating warblers and other passerines continued to be reported from the Sapsucker Woods, Mundy Wildflower Garden (on Cornell campus), and Etna etc. in the Cayuga Lake basin throughout the week. A CAPE MAY WARBLER was observed along with other warblers in Mundy on Sep 24. Several Philadelphia Vireos, Blue-headed Vireo, Warbling Vireo were reported between Sep 23-28. A Yellow Throated Vireo was reported on 25 Sep from Mundy. Three PALM WARBLERS were reported from Etna on Sep 23. Another Palm Warbler was reported from the Ithaca Golf Course on Sep 24. Other warbler species reported this week include Tennessee Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Bay-breasted Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler, Nashville Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Magnolia Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Blackburnian Warbler, Blackpoll Warbler, Mourning Warbler and Wilson's Warbler. Several LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, Swamp, White-throated and Song sparrows were seen along Dryden Lake trail on Sep 24. One Lincoln's sparrow was reported from Hog's Hole on Sep 25 and another on Sep 26 from Beam hill. Flocks of NORTHERN PINTAIL were observed migrating on Sep 24 from lighthouse Jetty at south end of Cayuga Lake. A Peregrine Falcon was seen in Jetty Woods on Sep 23. Happy Birding.
