It was seen for a few minutes on Connors Rd, where the road crosses Dead Creek, before disappearing in the brush. The GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE from the same area has not been reported in over a week, but what could be the same bird was seen on Beaver Lake that same day. RUDDY DUCKS, BUFFLEHEADS, and RING-NECKED DUCKS were also on the lake. A rare migrant in the area, a WHITE-EYED VIREO, was reported from NiMo EIC on Tuesday, October 17th. It was seen in the back woods in the "signal field" in a semi-open brushy tangle. Other migrants reported from NiMo EIC include MAGNOLIA, NASHVILLE, BLACK-THROATED BLUE and YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS; 1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW, 7 FIELD SPARROWS, 20 HERMITS and 1 SWAINSON'S THRUSH; YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, 2 BLUE-HEADED VIREOS, over 200 KINGLETS and 3-4 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS. A single POMARINE JEAGER was seen at Derby Hill on Saturday around noon. It sat on the water for about 15 minutes before it flew off. Many BRANT were seen passing the bluff throughout the day. Small numbers of other migrant waterfowl include all 3 SCOTER species, and a few far out HORNED and RED-NECKED GREBES. Both COMMON and RED-THROATED LOONS have been seen during the week, and about 30 PINE SISKINS passed through on Thursday. The 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS continue in downtown Syracuse on the HSBC building. The quarry pond on N. Manlius Rd in Minoa had 65 RUDDY DUCK, 4 PIED-BILLED GREBE, 1 HORNED GREBE, 3 BLACK SCOTERS and a RING-NECKED DUCK on Tuesday, and added WHITE-WINGED SCOTER on Thursday. Onondaga Lake had 14 BRANT, 4 AMERICAN WIGEON, 3 COMMON LOONS, 2 GADWALL and a female BLUE-WINGED TEAL on Tuesday. A PEREGRINE FALCON was again seen along the west shore of the lake.
