Corgyncombe's Groundhog, Corgyncombe
Carrie, who resides in Diane's old fashioned kitchen, decided to
go out on February 2nd to see if she could see her shadow. Try as
she might, she could not find her shadow. According to legend, if
the groundhog sees it shadow on Groundhog Day there will be six
more weeks of winter and if it does not see its shadow, spring
will come early. Even though she did not see her shadow, this
Groundhog knows from experience and by the five foot high
snowbank, that spring is still a long way off. Although it isn't
spring yet, thinking of spring flowers is so pleasant and so
lovely to think of during the Days of Valentines. Corgyncombe
Carrie was named after Diane's great grandmother who was born on
Groundhog Day.
