Bobbin Lace
The lace below,
done by Sarah, has a divided whole stitch trail with a star-like
spider in the center. Along the edge are fish-tail fans. The
pattern is from "Introduction to Bobbin Lacemaking" by
Rosemary Shepherd.

From time to time
we demonstrate and display our bobbin lace. At this event the
10th Mountain Division U.S. Army Band gave a splendid patriotic
concert.
Sarah and Diane
have the best time spangling their bobbins. Everywhere we go we
are on the look out for different glass beads. Diane made the
bobbin case which keeps the bobbins protected when they are not
in use.

Above is a
lavender sachet made by Sarah. Along the border are whole stitch
fans and spiders. The center square contains the roseground
pattern. The pattern is from "Torchon Lacemaking, A Manual
of Techniques" by Elizabeth Wade.
