Corgyncombe Cottage has had a huge harvest
of tomatoes.
As of the end of October the plants are
still producing as there has been no frost yet.

Preparing the tomatoes for canning. The
tomatoes have been blanched until the skin cracked, then put in
cold water, thus allowing the skin to be peeled off easily.
Above, they are being cored and quartered.

Diane fills her 12 quart kettle with
tomatoes which are boiled gently for five minutes before putting
into jars.
