Corgyncombe Cottage has had a huge harvest of tomatoes.

As of the end of October the plants are still producing as there has been no frost yet.

 

Preparing the tomatoes for canning. The tomatoes have been blanched until the skin cracked, then put in cold water, thus allowing the skin to be peeled off easily. Above, they are being cored and quartered.

 

Diane fills her 12 quart kettle with tomatoes which are boiled gently for five minutes before putting into jars.
