Asa Egleston (Egelston, Eggelston, Eggleston) was born 8 Aug 1775 in Dutchess County, NY and died 7 Jan 1857. He was the son of Benjamin Eggleston. Asa married Sarah "Sally" Widger who was born 28 Aug 1777 in CT and died 23 Jan 1866. Asa and Sarah lived in Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY and later moved to Kendall, Orleans County, NY. Asa and Sarah had children named (perhaps more): Olive b. 1801, probably Joseph b. about 1804/06, Alexander b. 1806, Nathan b. 1811, Benjamin b. 1812, and Washington b. 1822.

In 1790 there was a Benjamin Eggliston in Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY. In 1800 there was a Benjamin, Asa, and Amos Egalston and a Samuel, Samuel Jr., and John Wedger in Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY. In 1810 there was a Benjamen and an Asa Eagleston in Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY and there was an Amos Eggleston and a Samuel Widger in Schoharie, Schoharie County, NY.

Asa Eggleston's (b. 1775) father Benjamin Eggleston was probably born 26 Dec 1749 in Middletown, Middlesex County, CT the son of Samuel and Abigail (Bevins) Eggleston. Benjamin Eggleston's brother Samuel Eggleston was buried in Spencer's Corners Cemetery, Town of North East, Dutchess County, NY. Benjamin Eggleston may have married Desire Holmes who was born 4 Apr 1750 in Canterbury, Windham County, CT the daughter of Nathan and Desire (Spicer) Holmes. Nathan and Desire (Spicer) Holmes are buried in Spencer's Corners Cemetery, Town of North East, Dutchess County, NY. Possible children of Benjamin and Desire are: Amos Egelston b. about 1770 d. 1847 buried in Esperence, Schoharie County, NY (married Mehitable Wedger b. about 1775 d. 1857?); Polly Eggleston possibly born 1772 (married Samuel Widger); Asa Egleston b. 1775 d. 1857 (married Sarah "Sally" Widger); and Olive Eggleston possibly born about 1776 (married Elijah Ford). Amos was probably named after Benjamin Eggleston's brother Amos Eggleston. Asa Eggleston was probably named after Desire's brother Asa Holmes.

I would like to know who Benjamin Eggleston's parents were and the rest of his ancestry. I also would like to know if Benjamin Eggleston's wife was Desire Holmes.

Perhaps Sarah "Sally" (Widger) Eggleston was sister to Mehitable (Widger) Eggleston and Samuel Widger. I would like to know who Sarah's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Michael Braddock Sr. married Hannah "Anna" Goff 31 Mar 1784 in Middletown, Middlesex County, CT. Hannah Goff was born 26 Feb 1764 and died Aug 1804. Michael and Hannah "Anna" had the following childen (surname Braddock): Mary, Sarah, Hannah, Catharine, John, Clarissa, Michael, and William. Michael Braddock Sr. married (2nd) Hannah and had two children (surname Braddock): Charlotte and Lucy Ann. Michael Braddock Sr. probably married (3rd) 10 Mar 1824, in Middletown, Middlesex County, CT, Mary Blake. I would like to know who Michael Braddock Sr.'s parents were and the rest of his ancestry.

 

Elias Taylor was born 10 June 1753 in Danbury, Fairfield County, CT. Elias Taylor married Sarah Starr who was born in 1756. Sarah Starr was the widow of Benjamin Andrus/Andrews. Elias and Sarah (Starr) Taylor had the folllowing children (born in Warren, Litchfield County, CT, surname Taylor): Rachel, Sarah, Irana, Elias, Clarissa, Samuel Starr, and Chandler. Sarah (Starr) Taylor's sister Hannah Starr b. 1763 married 1782 Eleazer Taylor b. about 1755. Eleazer and Hannah had children named: John, Lucinda, Anna, Abigail, Elizabeth, Salmon, Noah, and Starr. Perhaps Eleazer Taylor was a brother or cousin to Elias Taylor. I would like to know who Elias Taylor's parents were and the rest of his ancestry.

 

Deborah Lewis was born about 8 June 1776 in RI and died 22 Mar 1851, buried in Maples, Mansfield, Cattaraugus County, NY. Deborah married Captain Jarvis Smith born 30 Oct 1778 in Glocester, Providence Co., RI and died 5 Oct 1817, buried in Hartwick, Otsego County, NY. Jarvis and Deborah (Lewis) Smith had the following children: Chester Smith, Sally Smith, Zinacia/Zinasia Smith, James L. Smith, and Chauncey T. Smith. Capt. Jarvis Smith's sister Mary Smith married Obadiah Lewis Jr. who died Nov 1793. Obadiah and Mary had two children: Otis Lewis born about 1790 and Hannah Lewis. Capt. Jarvis Smith's brother Stephen Smith Jr. married Ruth (probably Lewis) born about 1772. Capt. Jarvis Smith's uncle Nehemiah Tinkham married Lydia Lewis. Obadiah Lewis Jr., Ruth, and Lydia appear to have been siblings. Deborah (Lewis) Smith was probably related to them somehow. There is a Vintin Lewis born about 1736 and died 1813, buried in Hartwick, Otsego County, NY. In the 1777 census of Glocester, Providence County, RI there was a James Lewis, Peter Lewis, Vinten Lewis, Richard Lewis, Peter Lewis, Reuben Lewis, and Obadiah Lewis. In the 1790 census of Glocester, Providence County, RI there was a James Lewis, Obadiah Lewis, and Obadiah Lewis Jr. In the 1790 census of Otsego, NY there was a Vinton Lewis. I would like to know who Deborah (Lewis) Smith's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Rebecca (---) Robinson's maiden name may have been Close. Rebecca married Ziba Robinson and had the following children: Jared (married Martha Head, see above), and Hannah. Ziba Robinson was probably born in East Haven, CT and lived in Middlefield and Hartwick, Otsego County, NY. Ziba Robinson married (2nd) Rebecca Temple, 21 Jan 1802, in the Presbyterian Church, Cooperstown, Otsego County, NY. I would like to know who Rebecca (Close??) Robinson's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Susan Record was born about 1815/1818 NY, and died 13 Feb 1895 in Hartwick, Otsego County, NY. Susan married Leonard Brownell and had the following children (born from about 1836/37 to about 1855): Willard, Melissa E., Warner, Sarah, Mary, and Lina/Lena V. Susan (Record) Brownell probably had a brother Edward Record born about 1811/14 in Dutchess County, NY, and died 12 Nov 1877. Leonard, Mary, and Warner Brownell and Edward Record are buried near each other in Milford, Otsego County, NY. Edward Record and his wife Gertrude A. Hathaway had the following children (born from about 1838 to 1860): Marcia, Lucinda, Harriet, Eliza, Mary Ann/Mariam, Emily, Ellen, Margaret M., Rosellan/Rozellia, William Henry, and Eugene. I would like to know who Susan (Record) Brownell and Edward Record's parents were and the rest of their ancestry.

 

James Brownell and his wife Sarah Willard James Brownell was born about 1766 in "it is thought" Walpole, Norfolk County, Massachusetts and died 24 Nov 1816 in Hartwick, Otsego County, NY. James Brownell married Sarah Willard and had the following children (surname Brownell): James, Willard, William, Polly, Warner, Russell, Samuel Willard, Martin, Betsey, Dr. Seeley (Pelig), Sarah, and Leonard (married Susan Record, see above). I would like to know who James Brownell's parents were and also who Sarah (Willard) Brownell's parents were and the rest of their ancestry.

 

Elias Ismond (Isman) was born about 1777 probably in Chatham, Columbia County, NY and died 5 June 1863 probably in Middlefield, Otsego County, NY. Elias Ismond married Elizabeth "Betsy" Pitts and had the following children (surname Ismond): Jane, Betsy J., James, Hiram, Clarinda, Electa, Permelia W., Polly, Levi P., and Janette. I would like to know who Elias Ismond's parents were and the rest of his ancestry.

 

Bridget Merhall was born about 1842 in Ireland (came from County Cork, Ireland) and died after June 1870 and before June 1880 probably in Otsego County, NY. Bridget Merhall married Jabez Rhyde/Ride Jr. and had the following children, probably born in the Town of Richfield, Otsego County, NY, (surname Rhyde/Ride): Mary born about 1864, William born 12 Jun 1865, and James born about 1868/1869. I would like to know who Bridget (Merhall) Rhyde's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Jabez Rhyde (Ride, Ryde, Rhide) Sr. was born in England. Jabez married Sarah "Sally" Herington (born in CT) and had the following children (surname Rhyde/Ride/Ryde): William Rhyde b. July 1837 in NY, John Rhyde b. Nov 1839 in NY, and Jabez Rhyde Jr. b. Sep 1842 in NY (married Bridget Merhall, see above). In 1840 Jabez Rhyde Sr. lived in the Town of Warren, Herkimer County, NY. In 1855 Jabez Rhyde's widow Sarah lived in the Town of Richfield, Otsego County, NY. I would like to know who Jabez Rhyde/Ride/Ryde Sr.'s parents were and the rest of his ancestry.

 

Stephen Herrington (Herington, Harrington), "of Lisbon, CT" when he married 29 Mar 1789, in Griswold, (formerly Preston), New London County, CT, Sabra Back. Sabra Back was born 9 Mar 1769 in Preston, New London County, CT. Stephen and Sabra had the following children (surname Herrington): Nathan, Jesse, Clarke (Clark), King, Elizabeth "Betsy", and Sarah "Sally" (married Jabez Rhyde/Ride, see above), perhaps King again, and Lydia. The family moved to the Town of Richfield, Otsego County, NY. I would like to know who Stephen Herrington's parents were and the rest of his ancestry.

 

Dorothy Wheeler married 27 Feb 1766, in Griswold, (formerly Preston), New London, CT, Jesse Back. Jesse Back was born 7 Aug 1742 in Preston, New London County, CT. Dorothy and Jesse had the following children (surname Back), born in Preston, New London County, CT: Nathan, Sabra (married Stephen Herrington, see above), Esther, Betsy, Harty, and Marcy. I would like to know who Dorothy (Wheeler) Back's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Harriet Barner was born about 1805/1808 in Dutchess County, NY and died after June 1870. Harriet married Legrandeson/Legrandison Peck born about 2 May 1798 in CT and died 5 Dec 1861 in Otsego County, NY. Harriet and Legrandison lived in the Towns of Middlefield and Milford, Otsego County, NY. Legrandison and Harriet (Barner) Peck had the following children (surname Peck): William Henry born 1825 in Amenia, Dutchess County, NY, Mary Ann, Andrew B., Alfred W., Marilla A., Burnett Isaac (or Isaac Burnett), and John. I would like to know who Harriet (Barner) Peck's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Maria Chapman was born 19 Apr 1806 probably in Stephentown, Rensselaer County, NY or in Ohio and died 18 Dec 1844 in or near Oneonta, Otsego County, NY. Maria Chapman married Michael Yager and had the following children, probably born in Milford or Oneonta, Otsego County, NY (surname Yager): Euretta, Chauncey, Calista A., Elbert J., Minerva, Mary E., Venila, and Lanora. Maria Chapman's father was Ezekiel Chapman. I would like to know who Ezekiel Chapman's parents were, who Ezekiel Chapman's wife was, and the rest of their ancestry.

 

Mary "Polly" Miller was born 1789 probably in Rensselaer County, NY and died 29 June 1851 probably in Oneonta or Milford, Otsego County, NY. Polly Miller married David Yager 7 May 1805 in Wynantskill, Rensselaer County, NY. David and Mary "Polly" (Miller) Yager had the following children: Michael (married Maria Chapman, see above), John, Solomon, Henry, William, Hiram, Elisa (Elizabeth), Julina/Gelina, and David J. Mary "Polly" Miller was probably the daughter of John Miller. I would like to know who Mary "Polly" (Miller) Yager's mother was and the rest of Polly Miller's ancestry.

 

Ephraim Wood was born 19 Jan 1798 probably in Rhode Island and died after June 1880 probably in Chautauqua County, NY. Ephraim Wood married Sarah "Sally" Hale born 1801 probably in Burlington or New Lisbon, Otsego County, NY. They are buried in the Bemus Point Cemetery, Town of Ellery, Chautauqua County, NY. Ephraim Wood in 1830 probably lived in the Town of Oxford, Chenango County, NY, in 1840 he lived in the Town of Arkwright, Chautauqua County, NY, in 1850 he lived in the Town of Carroll, Chautauqua County, NY, and in 1860 he lived in the Town of Kiantone, Chautauqua County, NY. Ephraim and Sarah (Hale) Wood had the following children: Sarah Maria Wood and probably James H. Wood, Henry H. Wood, and Mary Wood. I would like to know who Ephraim Wood's parents were and the rest of his ancestry.

 

Isabel Fuller was born about 10 May 1778 (date calculated from age at death on gravestone) and died 6 Jul 1811 probably in Burlington or New Lisbon, Otsego County, NY. Isabel Fuller married James Hale who was born 10 Mar 1774 in Ashford, Windham County, CT and died 23 Feb 1844 in Chautauqua County, NY. James and Isabel had the following children (surname Hale): Harvey, Hiram W., Sarah "Sally" (married Ephraim Wood, see above), Joanna, Mary, and Harriet. I would like to know who Isabel (Fuller) Hale's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Laura Matteson was born 20 Feb 1811 and died 28 Sep 1842 probably near West Oneonta, Otsego County, NY. Laura Matteson married William P. Cook and had the following children (surname Cook): Rufus, Thomas M., Demarias, Mary Ann, Robert, Orrin, and Matteson. Laura Matteson was probably the daughter of Thomas Matteson and Damaris "Demmis" (Straight/Strait) Matteson. Thomas and Damaris Matteson's children were named: (probably Pasco Matteson), Hannah Matteson, David S. Matteson, (probably Laura Matteson), Palmer Matteson, and Franklin S. Matteson.David S. Matteson had a daughter named Laura A. Matteson b. 1845. I would like to know who Laura (Matteson) Cook's (b. 1811) parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Phebe Marshall was born about 1803/1805 probably in Saratoga County, NY and died 31 Jul 1872 probably in the Otsdawa, Town of Otego, Otsego County, NY. Phebe (Phoebe) Marshall married Squire Perry and had the following children (surname Perry): (possibly Sophronia), Morgan Lewis, (possibly Cordelia), Albert M., Louisa Jane, Eunice, Jesse V., Marlow F., Esther A., Raymond H., Henry O., Ada, Rovilla, Ferdinand, and Josiah Adrian. Squire Perry and Phebe Marshall lived in Wilton, Saratoga County, NY before moving to Otego, Otsego County, NY. I would like to know who Phebe (Marshall) Perry's parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Martha Keyes was born 21 Jul 1781 probably in Massachusetts and died 11 Sep 1873. Martha Keyes married 16 Dec 1798, in Milford, Otsego County, NY, William Scott. William Scott was born 1 Sep 1776 in Fort Ticonderoga, Essex County, NY and died 19 Feb 1860 in Milford, Otsego County, NY. William and Martha had the following children (surname Scott): William W., Charity, Lovina, Diana, Maria (Mariah), Lyman, James M., and Betsy. Sarah Haskins was born about 1781 in Connecticut or Dutchess County, NY and died 16 May 1854, buried in Westville, Town of Middlefield, Otsego County, NY. Sarah Haskins married Samuel Bates (see above). I would like to know who Sarah (Haskins) Bates' parents were and the rest of her ancestry.

 

Elizabeth Sweet was born 20 Jun 1736 and died 17 Sep 1822, buried in Milford Center, Otsego County, NY. Elizabeth Sweet married 10 Jun 1755 Thomas Mumford who was born 30 May 1733 in South Kingston, Washington County, RI. Thomas and Elizabeth had the following children (surname Mumford): Ruth, Robinson, Jenny, Mary, George, Hannah, Abigail, John, Elizabeth, Thomas G., Col. Joseph, and Dorcas. I would like to know who Andrew Wilson's parents were and also who Lydia (---) Wilson's parents were and the rest of their ancestry.

 

John Marschal (Marshal, Marchal, Marshall) married Rachel Van Aalen (Van Alen, Van Allen) and had a daughter Rachel Marschal born 2 Dec 1786/1787 in Montgomery County, NY and Christened 28 Jan 1787 at the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Caughnawaga, Fonda, Montgomery County, NY. Rachel Marschal married Jonathan Town/Towne and lived in Exeter, Otsego County, NY. John Marshal was listed as a head of household in the Town of Mohawk, Montgomery County, NY on the 1790 census. Listed in his household were 2 males over 16 years (including himself), 0 males under 16 years, and 6 females. Perhaps John Marschal was the Joannes born 6 Jan 1765 (baptised at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, NY) son of Peter and Anna (Flensburg) Merschel. I would like to know who John Marschal's parents were and the rest of his ancestry.
