Weaving
This page is dedicated to all the women in
our direct line who wove the fabric for their families' every
need.

One of Diane's old barn frame looms.

Wool blankets that Diane wove are warming
on the rack by the stove for a cozy winters nap. Katrina Corgi
looks forward to a cozy nap too.

The small white blanket is handspun and
knitted. Diane made it for Sarah before she was born and used it
for a cradle blanket. The skeins on top of the cradle blanket are
dog hair and angora rabbit. Diane wove the pink and white runner.
The pattern is called Norse Kitchen. On top of runner are two
skeins of mohair from the angora goat. In the center of the
photograph are three skeins of naturally white wool yarn. The tan
fourth skein has not been washed yet. When it is washed it will
be as white as the other three. The vest is handspun and dyed
with butternuts. The bonnet is handspun angora rabbit and
Corriedale wool plied together. The white trim and ties are 100%
angora. The large blanket underneath was woven by Diane.
