Professional Information & Fees:

I have studied Handwriting analysis and Document Examination for over 40 years.  Various systems of handwriting analysis, Graphoanalysis, Graphology, Graphotherapeutics and psychology were used to solve profile problems.

I graduated from IGAS and was certified a graphoanalyst in the late 60's. Upon certification, I studied Document Examination from IGAS and joined the World Association of Document Examiners (WADE). After that I studied , for about 3 years, Document Examination from Mr. Keith Ross, an excellent document examiner, from Webster, New York. Along the way, I took graduate courses in psychology and education and acquired a life time teaching certificate for Math and Science in the state of Massachusetts. The past 25 years I have been working mostly in Document Examination for attorneys, ceo's, banks, colleges and universities and law enforcement officials. The past 15 years I have been the Questioned Document Expert for Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys (TASA) covering the Upstate New York area.

I am a retired engineer with the government who served as a Director of Engineering, chief of Construction, Project Engineer, Office Engineer, and Design Mechanical Engineer. I also worked for private industry as a Mechanical Developmental Design Engineer and taught computer applications at our local BOCES prior to consulting in engineering. As a right sized, down sized engineer in early retirement , I am pursuing my interests. Prior to my engineering career I taught Math & Physics at Mercy High School in Rochester, New York and was interim Math Department chairman and instructor at Granby High School in Massachusetts.

Joe Jalbert Qualifications:

Joe Jalbert has studied the various systems of handwriting analysis since 1962 and Document Examination since 1972. His training in Graphoanalysis, Graphology, Psychology, Scientific Content Analysis and Document Examination ideally suite him to pursue investigations in Questioned Documents.

He studied the examination of Questioned Documents, for three years, under Mr. Keith Ross, Document Examiner, Webster, New York. He was a member of World Association of Document Examiners, President of the Upstate New York Chapter of the International Association for Identification and is presently a member of the New York State Defenders Association, The American College of Forensic Examiners and The National Association of Document Examiners. He has studied thousands of questioned documents and testified in civil and criminal courts on more than 50 occasions in the states of New York and Ohio. He has studied and maintains a comprehensive library of leading books and reference materials on Document Examination and Handwriting Analysis.

Mr. Jalbert is the Principle Document Examiner for Jalbert and Associates - Document Examiners - and maintains a document laboratory ideally suited for investigations in Document Examination. Microscopes, Scanners, magnifiers, indirect lighting panels, Ultraviolet and Infrared lighting sources, filters, computer equipment, dial vernier calipers, and finger printing materials all aid in solving handwriting analysis problems.

Mr. Jalbert has , for over 25 years, worked for attorneys, police, sheriffs, public defenders, district attorneys, colleges, banks, corporations and private citizens in the Upstate New York area. His background and training in Questioned Documents, handwriting analysis, psychology, scientific content analysis, psychology and engineering research allow him to go beyond the norm in identifying questioned documents. Often time, using a combination of skills, he can identify anonymous writers, forgers or give a psychological profile of them.

Fee Schedule:

Document Examination:

$150/hr for document investigations: Initial telephone consultation is free to determine if you have the needed documents to proceed with a case. A brief verbal opinion is $150. A retainer will be required prior to beginning unless prior authorized payment vouchers are submitted along with the documents. It is recommended the documents be sent Federal Express. Original documents are preferred.
