Here is a description of our home. For pictures, please click here. Three Story brick Italian Victorian with 5 window bay and a cupola on top. The house has massive and beautifully carved brackets. It features two large porches. One porch has wicker furniture, the other has a wrought iron table and chairs, so in nice weather, breakfast can be served there. The first floor consists of a very spacious and elegant double parlor. It has 12' ceilings with wide plaster crown moulding, wood floors, original wood shutters on the wide floor-to-ceiling windows and original marble fireplace. Across the hall is our dining room. It is intimately set up to serve 16 people with four tables for private dining. The dining room also has a fireplace, plaster crown moulding, wood floors, and original shutters on the large front windows. Off the guest lobby is the library featuring a white Empire sofa as the centerpiece. The walls are painted Chestnut Brown with white trim, and the floors are carpeted with a very plush, deep green carpet. Guests can read the newspaper or enjoy a book while listening to music. We have one guestroom downstairs (For a complete list and description of all the rooms click here). It has a Queen size carved Victorian bed, private tiled bath and a large walk-in closet. This room is great for an extended stay or for a guest that does not like to climb stairs. The second floor consists of six spacious bedrooms, all with private baths. Each bathroom has an old-fashioned claw foot tub, pedestal sink, and black and white tile floors. The bedrooms are all painted deep rich jewel-toned colors. The wide windows, baseboard mouldings, and the doors are all painted white. Our Rose theme is carried throughout the house. |
