Suggested Reading Advice
I suggest you follow the trail I took through the texts in order to prepare for replicating this study
I read Discourse & Social Change (D&SC) (Fairclouth, 1992) Introduction, Ch. 1 (Approaches to DA), Ch 8 (How to do DA), then Ch. 4 (Intertextuality)
Then I read the Introductions (both) and Ch. 2 (Discourse representation in the media) & Ch. 7 (Ideology and identity change inn political television); then Section C in Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) (Fairclouth, 1995)
This schedule of readings will adequately prepare the framework of the study (I’m not sure what texts you have, but the assigned readings are in the supplemental reading packet)
