  1. Rick: Good afternoon. Thank you for making yourself available for this interview which I’m conducing for my research concerning asynchronous classroom and cultural spaces. My name is Rick. First, just a few questions concerning your experiences prior to taking this course. How old are you?

  3. Rick: Where is your home?
  4. Shei: New York City.
  5. Rick: Which borough?
  6. Shei: Brooklyn, NY.
  7. Rick: And what’s your major?
  8. Shei: Education Administration.
  9. Rick: Education administration. What degree will you be earning?
  10. Shei: My Master’s of Science.
  11. Rick: Hold on, let me fix this problem here... Here we are...So you’ll be getting a Master’s?
  12. Shei: In Education Administration.
  13. Rick: Okay. How many years...What were your experiences and skills prior to this course?
  14. Shei: It was good. I don’t have any problems using the computer.
  15. Rick: You used word processing, e-mail, Web research?
  16. Shei: Yeah.
  17. Rick: When did you begin to use the Internet? A couple years ago?
  18. Shei: Yeah, like five years ago.
