Many volunteers are presently used in direct support of the classroom teachers and/or the Prometheus Director. No volunteers work with youths by themselves. All volunteers get on-the-job training in small group instructional control techniques and skills training through their directly supervised daily work and weekly staff feedback sessions. Volunteers are registered with the Carver Executive Director. A personnel file is kept on each volunteer. Volunteers range in skills levels all the way from parents and extended family members trough NYS certified teachers and mentors from local universities.
