Rev Bob Smith & local Self- development of People Committee passes Plan to their National Committee Ms Jean Swope arrives and recommends more $$$ Steering Committee sets up Lab & meets first: 4 Aug 93 Objectives met, lab secured lock, stock & barrel... The First Year (1993)

Goals of Our Project Project Objectives (meet these & the Lab was Ours w/i one year...) Latimer to train two residents in use and operation of Lab Computerize office environment of YRA Steering Committee train at least four more residents Train 24 youths per year in Lab operation via Latimer Education Set-up & publish resident Newsletter Project Expectations... Train twelve residents in operation of Lab Provide regular hours for accessing NYS Labor Dept Job Service on-line listing w/i two months Public Relations projects (fliers, notices, etc.) for JAM programs & directors Employ resident in project w/i one month via Latimer staffing Refund grant for 1994+ Incorporate YRA by June 1996Go To TOP

Our Project's Methods Steering Committee of Helping Yourself composed of Yates Residents & Latimer Director Steering Committee trains itself first Integrity of organizations and machinery is utmost and first before all other needs... Residents awarded $96,000 in TOP Grant providing much needed support professionalizes YRA facility by expanding facilities & organizational capacity YRA is currently incorporated professional facilities manager hired to provide more lab service (expanded by more than 400%) professional organizational capacity consultant hired to organize electronic office and train officers to run it (addresses issue of transience) professional system operator hired to maintain software & hardware systems on-site and to advise Board of Directors on technical issues Latimer Ed'n Program a Successful Partner Latimer expands to 2nd HUD site; provides links between Resident Organizations Latimer to provide focal support in new HUD Family Centers' Public Access Computer Labs Lotus Grant for $10,000 in Software New facility at Hamilton Hill (Sec 8) site built by UPS Found'n featuring Public Access LabsGo To TOP
