Reunion 1999
The November 19th-21st Wonka Reunion was a complete success. It all happened in Wilmington, Mass. I got alot of new autographs and some new memorabilia. I also got to hang out with the cast alot more than I did at the 1998 reunion. Friday night (the night before the show) Me, Gene Crowell, and several other people made rounds to each of the cast members hotel rooms. Most of the cast (Julie Dawn Cole, Peter Ostrum, Paris Themmen, Rusty Goffe, and Denise Nickerson) were all busy signing photographs for the show. We visited for a bit and then I headed back to my room.
Saturday when I got up I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant with all the members of the cast and with a couple other big time Wonka-maniacs! For the rest of the day I hung out at the convention. It was the best time of my life... but it was just the beginning. Saturday night we all ate dinner together and then had a get together in Julie Dawn Cole's hotel room. I looked all through Julie's original script complete with call sheets and all! It was the best! I also got to see two real original golden tickets! ...(You guys gotta know, by this time I felt like I was in the chocolate room!)... The following day we all pretty tired out. I slept in till around 9:30am and then headed to the convention. I snapped a couple of really good photos to put here on the web site and then decided to head for home sometime around 2:30pm. So, needless to say it was a super time for everyone.
Other interesting things seen at the convention included:
A man from Connecticut came with tons of Wonka memorabilia signed by Gene Wilder himself! That was something!
I got to see a new reproduction of the Wonka Contract done beautifully by Shannon Schrum. Once again he's amazed us all with another of his great prop re-makes.
Another interesting collectible that I saw for the first time was Australian movie inserts! They have completely different cover art from the American 1971 and the American 25th anniversary art.
And now, what you've all been waiting for... the pictures!
"You're gonna love this... I just know you will."
Hold mouse cursor over pictures for description.
More pictures soon! I have to get to the store to get some photos developed.
